man, this was always too hard to bring up in conversation, now i get it… you know when you have colored text on top of some shade of gray, and its really hard to read, and kinda hurts your eyes? apparently that’s just an issue with contrast

what causes the crystals to grow in the same way in each direction though? hmm… i guess real the question is what causes the variance, and what is the timescale to generate each crystal.
